GROUP B: The Golden Era of Racing

This project pays homage to the exhilarating era of Group B Audi rally racing. Immerse yourself in the world of high-speed action, raw power, and daring drivers through a collection dynamic visuals reviving the spirit of this legendary motorsport.

This project aims to encapsulate the essence of Group B rallying from the perspective of Audi, while still recognizing it's competing counterparts, from its inception in the early 1980s to its abrupt end in 1986. The showcase of iconic rally car, the Audi Quattro, as it dominated the tracks with unmatched performance and advanced technologies.

I chose the title card to have Michèle Mouton on it because she was not only apart of the Audi Rally team, but was the first women to win a rally championship and become president of FIA's Women & Motor Sport Commission in 2010.

A mix between swiss type, neomorphism and minimalism, this project was a lot of fun to put together, with dynamic animation coming into play, different post-production FX being applied to SVG iconography, and trying to integrate an infographic hierarchy within the context of a poster that could live on a bedroom wall. I love how the kerning of the typeface family I wound up using works so well either tightly or spaced out, it truly speaks to the functionality of a good san-serif.
